Why won't my school compromise?

I'm a freshman in high school in Texas that has year round schooling. So I'm like NEVER in trouble at school at all (I'm actually an honors student) but this morning I let my friends peer pressure me into joining them in bullying a girl during PE class, and we totally got caught. I felt bad about it as soon as I did it and I HAVE apologized. I know it was wrong. But the school isn't cutting me ANY slack even though I have a great track record. I got sent home early with a form informing my mom what I did (totally fair) and that I will be getting swats tomorrow. I just think this is a gross overreaction. I've never even had detention but once! I haven't given my mom the letter yet, though I know I need to when she gets off work today. I just don't know why I can't get a little slack?

If you don't get the check in the next day or two, hire a lawyer. Sometimes people don't take you seriously until a lawyer gets involved. It would be worth it just to have someone get you real answers instead of this runaround from the company. A lawyer could get in touch with the insurance company and light a fire them to get your money. One other thing I'd suggest is to write your incident to a newspaper that has an investigatory column for people who have been screwed over. We have one where I live, called The Fixer and they look into matters of this sort. Most times they get people their money back and then some.

Why do i have high ankle pain?

Yesterday I did my average 20 minute run on the treadmill, and some interval training (sprinting, running, jogging,lunges) on the track. I just realized that my crate was too big and that's why my 4 month lab peed inside all the time. She doesn't pee in her crate anymore, but she still thinks it's perfectly fine to pee inside since she has been going inside for like 2 months. I'm a 48 year old white dude and I remember similar things like that happening to me when I was a teenager. Older people often are prejudice when it comes to young teenage boys because it's always assumed that they're mischevious and untrustworthy. Do I need to go to the doctor for a second ear infection?

I had swimmer's ear in my left ear with my eardrum still intact, which I found out when I went to the doctor. She prescribed me ear drops, which I was supposed to use for 7 days. 2 days later, it completely went from my left ear and started in my right ear. Now it is on the EXACT same track -- day 1: feels like I "pulled" my ear. day 2: hurts, ear itches. day 3: worst pain of all of the days (the day I'm on right now) day 4: the top of my ear stops hurting, but the inside is still moderately painful. day 5: same as day 4. day 6: pretty much completely gone. I started taking ear drops for my left ear (1st ear) on day 5. When I got the ear ache in my right ear, I started taking them on day 2. But nothing has changed. Day 3 is still the worst pain yet. The only difference I can tell is that when I put the drops in my left ear I didn't really notice they were there after a minute or so after I got up, but in my right ear it feels like there were too many drops put in and it's clogging my ear, even though I'm putting in 4 like I always have. Do I need to go to the doctor for this, or can I just keep putting drops in my ear and it will go away.

I think the book bag is unnecessary, I'm in 7th grade and I got one in 6th and I never used it, I thought it was too much to carry around because the binder held all my stuff anyways. They provide graph paper, lunch boxes are really nerdy once you get into middle school, they have a library at school, you don't need your own books. You'll need more notebooks than 3, probably 5 and you really only need 2 highlighters. They have staplers at the school, kinda stupid to get a mini stapler. You'll need at least 5 folders. What about crayons and markers and colored pencils? Sticky notes and book covers aren't needed

Betta fish in 1 gallon bowl?

Buy a little heater pad and maybe an oxygen pump, and change the water as often as you possibly can. The betta can survive in a fish bowl, but it really isn't a suitable enviroment. I hope you'll be able to work out a divider or another tank for your other betta soon!

Who else agrees that Smackdown is hurting without Edge?

As some of you may know, Orton was promoted to being positioned as the new face of Smackdown, due to Edge's sudden retirement. Why did my betta fish die?

He was very lively when we first bought him home. The people at Petco said that he would not need a heater and he really didn't even need the filter that came with the 2.5 gallon tank. We did everything we were told:treat the water with the conditioner and let it run through the filter for 24 hours before putting in the fish; feed him only about 3 times a week or every other day; do a 50% water change 1 a week; don't keep the tank in direct sunlight. He seemed ok for about 2 weeks then I noticed he wasn't really swimming much. He would stay at the bottom of the tank not moving but was still alive. Every once in a while it looked like he took a deep breath. He would not eat. I went to another Petco and tried to buy a heater and they said the heater would kill the betta, so I did not buy it. They told me the betta didn't do much, so that was normal. Then he started laying on his side. He still looked normal (no fins falling off or stuff like that). I read online on various sites that he SHOULD have a heater and also that if he had labored breathing and erratic swimming that he might have an infection. Most of the bloggers agreed that some salt would clear up infections. So, I bought a heater anyway and some aquarium salt. I followed the directions and mixed the salt separately in another bowl (using the water he was already in) and connected the heater. I also attached a thermometer to the tank and it read about 70 or 72 and after the heater about 74. He actually started to sit up (instead of laying on his side, he was now holding himself up regularly. He even responded to me when I called him like when I first bought him. He swam around a little bit and went hiding in his little castle. I thought all was better now, but then this morning he was just laying at the bottom of the tank, this time not moving at all. Does anyone know what is was that killed him? It makes me think that ADDING the heater killed him, but it seemed like he was a little happier when it got warm. Maybe the salt? Maybe he starved? I was still trying to feed him little bits of food, but he never went up to get them. I do not want to buy my son another betta (he wants one), because this is the second one that died. The first one I think was because of too small a tank. We had bought the "betta" tank they sell that is small with a divider and just took out the divider to let him swim freely. But he was not lively when we bought him and the water was cloudy after a few days. I didn't even get the chance to change that one's water because when I got home after work, it was already dead in only 2 or 3 days. I guess what I really need to know is, does the betta actually need a heater or not? too many people differ on this and it just seems to me that the water was ice cold (it is very cold where I live). Why is my fish tank turning brown?

Is the tank near sunlight? I experienced the same thing, but for some strange reason, only the tanks that had sunlight hitting them get it. I think its some sort of algae. If you have driftwood or pebbles, that could be the cause, since after we removed all the fish's pebbles (some fish were swallowing theirs) the algae stopped growing.

You are still doing better than my family. You and your brothers have a good support system. Your stepdad loves all of you. A couple of your brothers decided to do what they knew was wrong even though they had someone to go to for help BEFORE they decided to do it. Many people do not have that at all. Confused about resistors and potential dividers?

I thought that resistors worked by increasing the difficulty with which the electrons move through that part of the circuit. The electrons had to "fight" to get past the resistor, and in doing so used up a certain amount of electromotive force (which, I've been told, is equivalent to voltage). However I am studying potential divider circuits and it is said that the voltage, rather than being used up to "get across" the resistor, goes into a side-circuit and can be used used to operate, for instance, a bulb. If the resistor used is a variable resistor and the resistance decreases, it that there is less voltage travelling into the side-circuit so the bulb doesn't light. I don't understand this; if there is less voltage being used up to "get across" the resistor surely there is more voltage left to travel into the side-circuit? Please help!!

After betta breeding quEstion!?

After my male and female veiltail betta spawned, does the male have to be with the eggs in the styrofoam cup and bubblenest if no other fish has acces to the eggs? So basically my question is- can I move my male betta back to his 5 gal tank and my female back to her side ofthe 10 gal tank (their is a divider that the me male was on with the eggs and the female on the other? And my bettas are taking like hours to mate, and everytime they rap up like either no eggs or very little come out. Is this aquarium set up okay?

I have a 5.5 gallon tank with a 5 in tall divider down the middle of it. On one side there will be 5 inches of sand and then a plexi-glass ramp into 5 inches of brackish water. There will also be another ramp travelling upward from the divider to a plexi-glass platform near the top of the tank to provide more room. There will be one inch of sand on this platform. A cover will be placed on the tank. On the water area I will place about an inch or so of aquarium gravel and a moss ball. The animals that will be living together in this habitat are a Red Claw Crab, a Fiddler Crab, an African Dwarf Frog, a Mystery snail, and 5 ghost shrimp. I will have an indoor plant light set up to warm up the water. How does everything sound?

Puppy wont stop crying in the crate...?

I posted a question a couple of weeks ago about my puppy crying in her crate...she is almost 4 months old now and she still cries when she is in her crate...i have gotten her to the point where she no longer screams at night, she may cry for like 5 min or so but then she is quiet until she has to potty then i get up and let her out...but during the daytime when i am home she will cry when i put her in her crate...i put toys in there and she doesnt even look at them..they actually end up under the other side of the divider because she is too busy trying to get out...her sole purpose is chewing the crate to try to get out...now she used to cry for hours but she now only cries for about 20 minutes or so...then she will stop for 5 or 10 minutes then start crying again...is this ever going to stop?? i am trying to put her in there more and more when i am home so she can get used to it but it seems like it will never end...

What is summer school like?

So I am going to summer school for English and Science in 7th grade. I have class on Monday but they really didn't tell us much about it. I'm bringing a binder with two dividers fro my classes. I was just wondering what is it like? I know it is different for each school but It says in the papers that school is 4 hours long. What should I do for the fin rot of two male betta fish in a 2.5 gallon filtered and heated divided tank?

So, I have two male betas in a divided 2.5 gallon tank. It has an under gravel filter and small heater. One is a crown tail the other is a split tail. The water has aquarium salt in it. The temperature is usually 75-80 degrees or so, I think (I'm not at home right now). On of them got a torn fin after an encounter between the two of them due to my not properly inserting the divider (they were both fine and seemed to be at somewhat of a truce on opposite sides of the tank with the split tail having a torn fin). The fin rot seems to been caused by that and now both have some degree of fin rot (due to my own laziness, yes it was stupid, i know that now). I've been reading on different sites but I just wanted some input on this particular situation. I have some, I think Mardel, fin rot treatment at home that I have not yet used. Should I put the two of them in separate tanks for this, I don't gave another open filtered and heated tank so it would just have to be a fish bowl? I gathered from the site I should do a water change but how much? or should I just clean the whole thing completely filter, rocks and all? I can't fit a normal suction cleaner in the tank because it's so small. Any advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated. thanks for your help!

i smoke a lot of ciggeretts im a very high stress person. im a day trader. i can do 4-6 packs of marlboro reds per day easy. they keep me calm and keep from throwing things and breaking things. my husband likes his dip but sometimes he smokes too. well today i wasnt keep track of how many ciggies i had left and went to grab another pack and there were no more!!! empty!!!! i was out!!!!! i normally dont go more then 15 mins betweens smoke breaks during the day and like 1 hour at night. i started shaking and felt light headed and was freaking out......i started yelling at my husband to go get some more at wal marts and he was just sitting there!!!! i had to jump into the car and rush down to wal marts. i was shaking violently when i got to the store and i ran into the store and got them!!! i ripped the carton open before i got out the door and lit up as soon as i hit the breezway. wow did that feel good!!!!!!!! i immeditly felt better!!!!! i ended up smoking half the pack in the parking lot before i left!!!!! i needed them!!!! i think my husband must have stolen some of mine!!!!!!!!!! have you ever run out?????? What would be a good tank mate for my Bearded Dragon?

Are you serious? Cody Rhodes has by far one of the greatest gimmicks going in the WWE right now. It reminds me of when CM Punk started his Straight Edge Society. Do you think my son has a speech delay? Any speech therapists out there?

He is going to be 3 in a few months. He spoke around 75 words by 24 months, then shortly after began combining 2 words together. He now speaks in 3-5 word sentences and has more single words than i can count. The concern is that when I hear him singing for example, he is so cute btw, he is singing let's say Barney... he will sing "i love you, you love me" blah blah blah, but he is kind of sticking his tongue out and it makes him sound strange. If you're trying to get the picture of what he sounds out, try to stick your tongue out and sing it and that is how he sounds. Anyway, sometimes his voice is a bit on the nasally side. Other than this, he understands everything I say and is very social and happy. He counts 1-15, knows alphabet and colors. Should I be worried here or does he sound on track? Thank you.

USB doesn't have enough bandwidth to record any more than a few tracks at a time. You would want to look into a fire wire mixer or interface to be able to record many tracks at once. You could also look into a porta-studio with enough capacity to record your drums all at once.

Does a 2.5 gallon fish tank need a filter?

It's a betta fish tank that's designed to hold two male bettas peacefully by having a divided placed in the middle. I installed the filter provided with the kit but it seems to create a much too strong current for such a small tank. It causes problems for the fish sharing the filter's side of the tank. The water surface per fish is 4" by 5" without the filter, but with the filter(the cartridge plate lays flat to keep the filter body and tube from touching bottom I assume) the fish it sides with is downgraded to only 1" width with the same 5" length at the water's surface. Realistically it can only come up for air(as they constantly do) and water in a 1"x1" section because if it nears the other 4x1 section it gets thrown against the divider due to the strong current. I've read that I'll kill the bacteria and then the fish if I turn it off, but I've only had it for 5 days so I doubt there has been much vital bacteria growth yet anyways. So is it ok to turn it off now for good and treat it like typical .5-2.5 gallon tanks(or a fish bowl) that don't use filters at all? Thanks for your time and knowledge.

How do I keep my puppy from pooping in her crate?

I bought a puppy from the Shamrock Foundation about 2 months ago (she is 5 months old now). I feed her in the evening and she sleeps with me at night. She stays in bed with me the entire night and I take her out in the morning first thing. She pees 3 or 4 times and poops every time and I reward her with a small treat. Unfortunately, I have to put her in a wire crate when I leave for work at 7 and isnt let out until I get home around 4. To my knowledge, she doesn't whine or cry anymore but she does pee and poop multiple times in the crate. She will then lay in it and I have to bathe her and clean the crate every day. The crate came with a divider to make the area smaller, which I tried but that didn't work. So, I took the divider out thinking maybe she would go in one place and sleep on the other end and that didn't work. So then I tried locking her in the laundry room with a puppy pad. She went on the puppy pad, but tore up the linoleum floor and scratched the paint off the door. I know she can hold it long enough because she does it every night. Any tips on how to keep her from going in her crate every day? This has been going on for the last couple months. I am hoping it is something she will grow out of, but I want to promote good behavior from her.

The main difference is looks . there are a lot of differences that could change things though. one or the other may react better with the acoustics of your particular vehicle . Housebreaking puppy please help?

My 9 wk. old Scottish Terrier puppy refuses to go to the bathroom outside. I have him on a strict feeding schedule per vets advice. About 20 minutes after eating he starts sniffing & circling the floor but when I take him out he wont go. I bring him back in wait until he shows signs again then take him back out, still refuses to go outside. I have cleaned the "accident areas" in the house with Natures Miracle so there is no scent to draw him. When he's outside all he wants to do is chew on everything in site instead of do his business. I have tried using a squirt bottle & pennies in a can to deter this behavior to no avail. Also, even though I get up at least 2-3 times during the night to take him out he will pee in his cage. His cage is dry when I take him out, he refuses to go, I take him back in wait 15-30 minutes and he has peed in his cage. I thought dogs didn't like to go in their "den". I have a divider in the cage to make it as small an area as possible so he wont soil his sleeping area. Any adice? I don't know what I am doing wrong. I am at my wits end. Never had these problems with other puppies in the past.

Why is my macbook making these noises and not turning on?

I've been using my brother's macbook while he's gone (I'm not sure which version it is. It has the plastic white case with the actual clicker bar next to the track pad), and last night it started making these weird noises. It sounded like when you put a CD in the drive and you turn the macbook sideways. Where it's a kind of gurgley noise coming from the disk drive area. It was getting really hot and today I was watching a video on Netflix and the computer just shut off. The screen went black and now when I try to restart the computer, it turns on and goes to the start up screen with the Apple sign and the little loading spinning wheel. It does that forever and never fully turns on. It also gets really hot. Help! How can I fix this and what is wrong? Is there an easy way to fix it? Is it going to cost a lot of money? I have 2 dwarf gouramis and 3 otos in my tank. The gouramis regularly get good flake food and FD bloodworms. My otos have done an excellent job cleaning up the tank, but when I try to feed them some sinking algae wafers, my gouramis go after them and eventually eat them up. Decorating a 3 season room?

I want to redo my 3 season room. Right now its used for pretty much storage, but I want to make it into a nice sitting area but don't want to spend a whole a lot of money. What causes swim bladder problems in a betta?

Feed her some cooked peeled peas. This usually clears up the swim bladder issue. It could take a week or more to clear it up so be patient. Swim bladder issues can be caused by swallowing air accidentally. to prevent this, get a sinking pellet food. A 5 gallon heated and filtered aquarium is considered the minimum for 1 betta. I would suggest a bigger tank. Also if you got her from a store and your tank is heated, you are supposed to stick her bag of water (with her in it) in the tank and let it float around for 20 mins or more. Her cup at the store probably wasnt heated and putting her in a warm tank might have put her in shock. There really isnt anything you can do about this, just try to prevent it in the future. Bettas are warm water fish so they do need a heater. A filter is mandatoryand a 5 gallon tank is the minimum for 1 betta.

i have a 60 gallon tank with a divider. on one side i have turtles and convict cichlids, and on the other there are mollies and platties. This is true because if they are separated the male's reproductive system is storing up and when they are back in contact with the opposite sex they will be more prone to mate. I would keep pairs in separate tanks that way nothing will eat the eggs while she lays them. Can 3 bettas live in a divided 10 gallon tank without a filter?

I have a ten gallon fish tank and want to put three bettas in it. I will be putting dividers so no mean comments. They will have a heater but my filter puts off way too much of a current for a betta. I always do a 10 - 15 percent water change once a week for my fish so I will do this for them. Oh and they will also have a airpump as well. I know they are surface breathers and have labrynth lungs or whatever so I am just wondering in they can live without a filter, I have had bettas in a bowl before and the lived 5 years, so I would think that a ten gallon plus airpump plus heater would be good but I just wanted to check. I love bettas I think that they are beautiful. Also will they be active? I want them to swim and not sit on the floor all the time or in a cave or on a plant.

Confused about Electrical Resistance?

You have to look at the whole circuit. A potential divider or as we call it in the US, a voltage divider "slices" off a piece of the voltage resulting from current through resistors. Suppose you have a 12v source and you have a 6v light bulb. If you know the amps the bulb draws at 6v, you place that bulb in series with a resistor that will drop 6 volts with those amps through it. That way voltage across the bulb will be 12-6=6v. If the pd you are using consists of 2 resistors with the "load" connected off one of the resistors, that load in parallel with that resistor could decrease the equivalent resistance, increasing the current in the circuit which would then drop more voltage across the other resistor, lowering the voltage to the load. Regarding the last statement, again it depends on the circuit. There are likely other resistors connected in series or in parallel. In a circuit with a single resistor across a voltage source, that statement would be true but it isn't true in a circuit with other resistors.

When I go to streamlite for tracking information, they provide it and it said the package was delivered to the USPS office, (latest update), but when I click on the delivery CONFIRMATION number, (the same as the tracking number streamlite provides), it takes me to the USPS site, (ther track and confirm page), and it says there is no record of this item, (no tracking information), is there any reason for concern? they provided me tracking info on streamlite, but it won't allow it on the actual USPS site. Fender Rhodes sound -a-like?

I work on a farm, and it is surrounded by a 10 foot high fence. And at the driveway, there is this strong, iron gate, that only opens if a passcode is entered on a padlock. Well, only people that we trust, (3 family members of my boss) know the passcode. Well yesterday we were standing outside of the house when we saw a red pickup truck pull into our driveway. The gate was closed, but suddenly it swung open and the truck pulled in and started driving up and down the fields. So me and my boss hopped in our pickup truck and sped down the field after them. We followed their tracks around a corner when suddenly they disappeared and the truck was gone. We searched the entire farm but the truck vanished. We are planning on putting security cameras down at the fence, to see how they got in. We don't know anyone with that type of vehicle. What do you think they did to open it? Please help! Betta breeding question?!?

Ok I have a male and female veiltail betta. I have them both in a 10 gal tank with a plexiglas divider and ech on one side. The male made a bubble neat but I think it's jut the border of the styro foam cu right now, I think he's still working on it a little. Anyways, my female lived with a different male for the past week week in a half were they could see eachother no stop,( there was the divider) I didn't have intentions on mating them plus, he never would make a bubble nest. I am going on a very short trip to Rhodes and will only be there 6 hours. If the outward flight is delayed I could miss the return flight and the ticket is a cheap one that can not be transferred. My cobalt blue zebra is holding & i already have fry in my 10 gallon from the red zebra that spit hers out last week so i decided to put up a divider in my 55 gallon with her on 1 side & the other cichlids on the other side. Do you think my toddler has a speech delay?

He is going to be 3 in a few months. He spoke around 75 words by 24 months, then shortly after began combining 2 words together. He now speaks in 3-5 word sentences and has more single words than i can count. The concern is that when I hear him singing for example, he is so cute btw, he is singing let's say Barney... he will sing "i love you, you love me" blah blah blah, but he is kind of sticking his tongue out and it makes him sound strange. If you're trying to get the picture of what he sounds out, try to stick your tongue out and sing it and that is how he sounds. Anyway, sometimes his voice is a bit on the nasally side. Other than this, he understands everything I say and is very social and happy. He counts 1-15, knows alphabet and colors. Should I be worried here or does he sound on track? Thank you.

Can't breathe when jogging for short time?

I'm not overweight, but even when I try jogging for a very very short amount of time I get out of breathe. I tried doing track earlier in the year but quit after a few days because it was embarrassing to always be in the back during practice. I can jog for a short time but if I keep pushing myself I feel like I'm going to have a heart attack or pass out. Also, when I was doing track I wanted to do something short like the 100 yard dash because I've always been a fast short distance runner. But when I tried it, I got about 10 yards and felt like I was going to die. After I got home I tried doing a sprint down the street and did just fine. Could it be something about being around other people? I am a 14 year old girl, by the way. I don't think it's something about "not enough lung capability" because I have played the trumpet for 5 years.

Why is separating your guinea pigs good? I understand that is they are fighting, you need to separate them, but what does that do? Does putting a divider in the middle of their cage really do any thing for them once you take the divider out?
